I was someone who didnt belong to Christ
verse 1 – christ, i was far from you
i was someone who didn’t belong to christ,
i had no share in the inheritance.
the promises and covenants were foreign to me.
i had lost all hope,
because i lived without the living water.
but through your blood, you brought me near
and placed me in your flock.
to call you my god,
to be called your child —
i am completely unworthy,
i am not even a little worthy to be your vessel.
verse 2 – built on the foundation
the foundation laid by apostles and prophets now stands firm.
by jesus christ, the cornerstone,
you joined me into it too.
you built me into a temple, a palace, a dwelling place.
for this great honor —
what can i do?
what can i offer?
to call you my god,
to be called your child —
i am completely unworthy,
i am not even a little worthy to be your vessel.
verse 3 – from death to life
because i followed the desires of my flesh and mind, i was spiritually dead.
but god, through your mercy and your love, you gave me life.
you raised me with christ
and seated me in the heavenly places.
by your grace and gift, you saved even me.
to call you my god,
to be called your child —
i am completely unworthy,
i am not even a little worthy to be your vessel.
