The One who is extraordinary even if you are insulted
the one who is extraordinary – even if you are insulted,
our god knows no defeat – he will never let you fail.
the one who has done mighty works for you,
will he ever leave your hand in times of trouble?
the lord who made you cross many impossibilities,
will he abandon you in hardships?
the god of zion will never let you be put to shame,
the merciful one will wipe away your tears.
verse 1
even if you are thrown into the fiery furnace,
or handed over to the mouths of lions,
the enemy who planned your downfall will be astonished,
because even lions stood still and could not harm you.
so why grow weary with trials saying, “why me?”
look—jesus stood in the fire for you!
he will never hand you over into the enemy’s hands.
verse 2
when every situation slips away from your control,
and all your hard efforts bring no results,
when everything you hoped for is gone,
and you have no expectation of better days ahead—
do not be discouraged thinking your fate won’t change.
for he will turn your bitterness into sweetness,
and satisfy you with blessings in abundance.
verse 3
when lonely battles tire you out,
and the calling you received feels like a heavy burden,
when even your dear ones mock you,
and you stand in despair without anyone trustworthy—
do not abandon the calling and turn back.
the judge himself will establish you as a leader,
for the god who called you will never forget you.
